POP & Co is an established outsourcing business based in Hawthorn, Australia, providing a range of
services from maccounting to digital marketing. Our client base consists of small to medium businesses and high net worth individuals, across a variety of industries.
We are looking for an individual to lead and manage the offshore accounting function. This role isresponsible for overseeing people, processes, and performance delivery, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across all Australian accounting activities
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day Australian accounting operations including AP, AR, payroll, and reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, cash flow, etc.)
- Review BAS/IAS, payroll tax, and compliance-related reports before finalization
- Ensure audit readiness and support internal and external audits
- Lead, manage, and mentor the offshore accounting team
- Conduct regular performance reviews and development planning
- Drive accountability, ownership, and a high-performance culture
- Identify skill gaps and implement training and upskilling initiatives
- Manage team capacity, workload distribution, and resource planning
- Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements and automation
- Standardize workflows, documentation, and internal procedures
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
Key Requirements
- Must hold an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Full/ Partial qualification in CIMA/ACCA/CPA
- 4 – 5 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to Australian accounts in a managerial position.
- Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with client-facing experience
- Ability to work accurately under deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Tech-savvy and comfortable using numerous online platforms for research outreach
- Strong team leadership and people management skills
