Accountant

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Process payroll and lodge Single Touch Payroll.
  • Prepare and review BAS/IAS, P&L, balance sheet, and aging reports.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian taxation laws, GST, and ATO guidelines.
  • Assist with internal/external audits and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients via email, calls, and meetings to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold client confidentiality.
  • Identify process improvements and support automation/efficiency initiatives.
  • Ability to understand client and jurisdiction requirements and conform to them for all deliverables.
  • Analyse the MI data collated by the team on regular basis to detect trends and suggesting improvisations.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Full/ Partial qualification in CIMA/ACCA/CPA
  • 3 – 4 years of accounting experience, ideally with exposure to Australian accounts
  • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with client-facing experience
  • Ability to work accurately under deadlines and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
  • Tech-savvy and comfortable using numerous online platforms for research outreach
  • Ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision
  • A team player with a can do attitude
